Though it doesn't have the same kind of international profile as America's coastal cities, Chicago is an amazing city in its own right. Strange to think that only two hundred people lived there in 1833!
Wow, great photos. If you were staying at the Hyatt, I lived in the building right next door to it on Wacker when I was working there. I believe it's the building you see a sliver of in your photo. The amount of new buildings around there is amazing.
Have you taken the Chicago River Boat Architecture Tour? For $54 you get a 90 minute cruise on the river filled with lots of information on the buildings, how the architects worked with the river's features while designing their buildings, some Chicago history, and just a different perspective of the city. Very enjoyable!
Great shots. So much of this didn’t exist the last time I was there. That pigeon is definitely new.
ReplyDeleteLots of neat buildings and birds!

ReplyDeleteIf not for the winters, it would be a great place to live.
DeleteWhen I was there....only twice and briefly..I had to see the bean....and of course hit the market.
ReplyDeleteA great city for "shopping"
DeleteYou know I'm here for the architecture, but the old classic styles and the very modern new builds.
ReplyDeleteChicago does a great job of hosting old and new, just one eyesore with that terrible sign in the side of it. I avoided including it in the photos.
DeleteThank you for that!
DeleteThat toddlin' town!
ReplyDeleteIt is great to hear from you!

ReplyDeleteYes we have, and the price has gone up.
DeleteI love to gaze at the buildings when I'm in the city. And the Lake! And the people!
ReplyDeleteSo much to see!
