Now I know for some of my regular readers "cruising" has a special meaning, answer based on the meaning that rings true for you.
1: When, if ever, was the last time you went cruising?
2: What is you favorite cruising spot?
3: Do you prefer a room with a view, or not?
4: What is the longest cruise you have been on?
5: Are you planning to go cruising anytime soon?
My Answers:

1. 2019 to New Zealand.
ReplyDelete2. What?? Oh yes, we are talking about ship cruising. Danube River but if it has to be an ocean, the Mediterranean.
3. I've had a balcony and I don't think they are worth the extra cost. I won't bother again.
4. 14 days.
5. No. I would take a river cruise again but Europe is so far away.
There is cruise from Seattle to Tokyo that catches my eye
DeleteWell I don't think I'll answer these if you're talking about the cruising I think I thought you were talking about! You can only imagine those answers.
ReplyDeleteBut if it's cruise ships you're talking of, I will never do one. I just don't think this would be the chosen way to vacation for me. I just don't think this it's me, they basically just remind me of a floating Hotel.
But I do think I agree with Andrew I'd be more apt to try a river cruise where the boat is smaller and people aren't crammed in like sardines.
The Love Boat didn't sweep you off your feet.
Delete1: When, if ever, was the last time you went cruising? I have never been cruising and the only locations I would ever "cruise" to are the island of St KIlda and The Baltic Sea. Those huge cruise ships are quite appalling to me.
ReplyDelete2: What is you favorite cruising spot? Not applicable.
3: Do you prefer a room with a view, or not? You mean - on a cruise ship? I have never been on one.
4: What is the longest cruise you have been on? Does a car ferry between Harwich, England and Denmark count? Twenty hours.
5: Are you planning to go cruising anytime soon? No way! Cruise ships are like floating ghettoes in my view. Awful things.
A long Ferry Ride, is a short cruise.
DeleteI think Yorkshire summed up my views on cruise ships perfectly.
Delete1. Doesn't one do it inadvertently every (or most) days?
ReplyDelete2. Was. Past tense. An mostly abandoned park in Columbus.
3. I prefer a room with a view. ....and the movie of the same name.
4. Let's see.......I'm 60. So maybe 48 years?
5. I do not. Thought I might be going on a ship in 2024. We will see.
There are ships that make port calls in Cleveland.
Delete1: When, if ever, was the last time you went cruising? Two answers: off the coast of Maui when I lived there, but that was just cruising out to a spot to dive; other types of cruising? Maybe every day, though I am just looking.,
ReplyDelete2: What is you favorite cruising spot? Now, that OTHER cruising? In an area called Lavender Heights in Sacramento.
3: Do you prefer a room with a view, or not? Well, a view is necessary.
4: What is the longest cruise you have been on? Okay, so we're back to water cruising; I have never been on a cruise. For me it sounds like staying in a hotel for several days and then going out for a few hours. As for that OTHER cruising, i am more of a window shopper these days since I already have what I want.
5: Are you planning to go cruising anytime soon? Not really ... see answer above.
Nothing wrong with window shopping.
Delete1. I've only ever been on one cruise, to French Polynesia about 10 years ago.
ReplyDelete2. I don't intend on taking another cruise, so . . . .
3. We had a room with a balcony. If you're going to spend the big bucks, go whole hog.
4. It was about 2 weeks long or so.
5. After the nightmare of Covid on cruise ships -- no, will not go on another cruise. If I were to go, though, I'd like to do one of those river cruises in Europe. I've heard they're great.
I have booked a balcony for the next one.
Delete1. The last cruise was in 2015, for our fortieth anniversary.
ReplyDelete2. My favorite cruising spot is Hawaii. Alaska was wonderful too, but coooold.
3. When younger, it didn't matter if we had a view. We were only there to sleep, among other things *wink*, and those drapes hanging on windowless walls weren't fooling anybody! Our last cruise we splurged on a balcony (that sounds kind of dirty). It was wonderful! Drinking morning coffee while watching the waves and occasional wildlife popping up was very peaceful. I will always splurge .
4. Fourteen days from San Francisco to the Hawaiian Islands and back.
5. Not planning on another cruise. Balder is trying to change my mind, even though I almost died on the last one. I ran out of insulin in the middle of the ocean. Still, good trip. He wants to plan a cruise for our fiftieth. I have about a year and a half to talk him out of it. Just thinking about being stranded on a disease infested ship makes me shudder. I think he's trying to wipe out any members of our families that takes him up on his offer to join us . Still, I'm leaning against it, no matter the perks.
What are the odds of another plague in our lifetime?

ReplyDelete2: What is you favorite cruising spot? I don't have one.
3: Do you prefer a room with a view, or not? neither, I prefer a room on solid ground.
4: What is the longest cruise you have been on? 5 days
5: Are you planning to go cruising anytime soon? Never again. Cruising the ocean is not for me. I might consider a river cruise but still not sure about that.
The feedback I have heard on the River Cruises, is you really need to go on all of the shore excursions, or you spend the day alone on a relatively small boat.
DeleteThese question is hard for me answer. I have never been any type of cruises.
