Travel Tuesday : Pike Place Market

Four years ago, funny it seems like longer, we were in Seattle for a few days.  I had a board meeting, we added plenty of time for a nice vacation.  If you like food and drink, a visit to Seattle should include a visit to The Pike Place Market.  It is legendary.  Yes it is a little touristy, but it is also a real thriving market.  Next time I should rent an apartment with a kitchen for few days.

  1. Oh, I love Pike Place Market. Even as touristy as it's become. And we always have lunch at Lowell's with a window table if we're lucky.

  2. The produce all looks so good and fresh. I tried converting prices to Australian dollars, totally forgetting yours would be dollars per pound.
I wonder if Pike Place Market pig statue came before the Adelaide Rundle Mall pigs.

  4. We go every time we hit Seattle, and I always say, "God it's so touristy," and Carlos reminds me that we're actually tourists there, too.

  6. We visited Seattle in 2014 but missed this appealing market. By the way, when you say you were in Seattle for a board meeting did you mean surfboard or skateboard?

  7. Great photos of the market. I was there about four years ago too and it happened to be over Mother's Day weekend. The amount of flowers at the market was breathtaking!

  8. I just love going to markets, planning menus as I shop, and then buying way more than what was planned. Those Rainier cherries...wow! My mom made a delicious fruit salad with Rainier cherries. Need to find that recipe.
