Four years ago, funny it seems like longer, we were in Seattle for a few days. I had a board meeting, we added plenty of time for a nice vacation. If you like food and drink, a visit to Seattle should include a visit to The Pike Place Market. It is legendary. Yes it is a little touristy, but it is also a real thriving market. Next time I should rent an apartment with a kitchen for few days.
Oh, I love Pike Place Market. Even as touristy as it's become. And we always have lunch at Lowell's with a window table if we're lucky.
ReplyDeleteGreat Pacific Oysters
DeleteThe produce all looks so good and fresh. I tried converting prices to Australian dollars, totally forgetting yours would be dollars per pound.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Pike Place Market pig statue came before the Adelaide Rundle Mall pigs.
A symbol of plenty and good luck
DeleteCousins of mine, my mother's niece live there and she must be in that Market at least three times a week.
ReplyDeleteAnother good reason for you to visit
DeleteWe go every time we hit Seattle, and I always say, "God it's so touristy," and Carlos reminds me that we're actually tourists there, too.
ReplyDeleteYes, and it is fun
DeletePlus it has a Lucky Golden Pig!
ReplyDeletePigs are fun, and tasty
DeleteWe visited Seattle in 2014 but missed this appealing market. By the way, when you say you were in Seattle for a board meeting did you mean surfboard or skateboard?
ReplyDeleteA long boring meeting with lawyers all around the table, wasting time.
DeleteGreat photos of the market. I was there about four years ago too and it happened to be over Mother's Day weekend. The amount of flowers at the market was breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteAmazing flowers
DeleteI just love going to markets, planning menus as I shop, and then buying way more than what was planned. Those Rainier cherries...wow! My mom made a delicious fruit salad with Rainier cherries. Need to find that recipe.
ReplyDeleteWe bought a quart of the cherries, and enjoyed them as we walked
DeleteI liked the city
ReplyDeleteLaid back for an American city I thought
The Pacific Northwest has a tradition of being relaxed.
