On Wednesday January 10th, Sean & Jeffery aka, Sassybear, Mitchell, and Myself and J, met in NYC for lunch. Thanks for J for taking the photo and Sean for sharing it with me.
1: Have you met any bloggers in person?
2: How far would you travel to meet a blogger in person?
3: How did you get started with bloggs (as a reader or blogger?)
4: If someone organized a blogger gathering, would you try to attend?
5: Have you read the pages of the bloggers above?
My Answers:
1: Have you met any bloggers in person? Yes, I have lost count of how many, several have become dear friends.
2: How far would you travel to meet a blogger in person? I have met several as part of other trips we were doing, for a trip just to meet with a fellow blogger, I would probably travel 500-miles.
3: How did you get started with bloggs (as a reader or blogger?) I guest blogged for a friend who was on holiday.
4: If someone organized a blogger gathering, would you try to attend? Yes, the last Bloggerpaloza was about a decade ago, there were about a dozen of us plus significant others.
5: Have you read the pages of the bloggers above? On a daily basis.
Please share your answers in the comments.
1. Quite a number.
ReplyDelete2. While we had met our friend in London twice before, she travelled to York to meet us last year. How good was that and I don't know that I would go to such an effort.
3. I realised I was writing very long comments on other blogs in 2004 and decided I had something to say to the world. After a slow start, it built, and rebuilt after the catastrophe a couple of years ago.
4. Yes, I have attended one in the late 2000s. All was good but none blog anymore.
Delete5. I used to until I was 'unfriended'.
It is nice to have someplace to say what we are thinking.
Delete1. 10 or 12. I've lost count. A few I've met multiple times.
ReplyDelete2. Would I or have I? I didn't travel any place to see a blogger. Had I been in town, or they in mine, have I met them. It was work or personal travel, and they've been there.
3. My friend David directed me to JMG. Then hit links and went down rabbit hole after rabbit hole, then started my own.
4. Unsure. I hate to say 'depends on who'd be there', but believe it or not there are some bloggers who don't like me. Not one to waste my time or $ on going to where I'm not liked.
5. My blog reading has gone to the dogs. I've read each of those blogs at some point.
It is a bit of a rabbit hole.
Delete1: Have you met any bloggers in person? yes, 6 or 7.
ReplyDelete2: How far would you travel to meet a blogger in person? If I was traveling to a certain location, I'd make a point of trying to meet.
3: How did you get started with bloggs (as a reader or blogger?) I think I started reading but soon decided to have my own blog.
4: If someone organized a blogger gathering, would you try to attend? Yes, If I could.
5: Have you read the pages of the bloggers above? Just yours but I'll check out the other.
I think I had only read Stephens blog a couple of times when I volunteered to guest blog that summer.
Delete1: Have you met any bloggers in person?
ReplyDeleteYes, loads. Many have become long term friends.
2: How far would you travel to meet a blogger in person?
I have booked holidays in locations where we could arrange to meet.
3: How did you get started with blogs (as a reader or blogger?)
I was searching for information on a location and stumbled across a blog which I started to read daily. That made me think "I could do this".
4: If someone organized a blogger gathering, would you try to attend?
I have done this before and would do it again, it was great fun.
5: Have you read the pages of the bloggers above?
On and off, yes.
It is great to hear from you. Where are you in France, and will you be there in May?
DeleteWe are in the general area of the Loire Valley and yes, we should be around in May. Are you planning a trip to Europe?
DeleteJean, we are going to be down in the south east of France in mid to late May.
DeleteI'm just a commenter, not a blogger but it does sound like a fun group! I would love to meet some of the bloggers I read but I would feel embarrassed to bother them. I do appreciate all of you bloggers that take the time to write posts as I enjoy them so much.
ReplyDeleteI have only once reached out to a blogger to meet up when I was going to be near, and not gotten a warm response.
Delete1: Have you met any bloggers in person? Yes.
ReplyDelete2: How far would you travel to meet a blogger in person? It all depends on timing and location.
3: How did you get started with bloggs (as a reader or blogger?) Started blogging to log our relocation experience from the US to Spain. It quickly became more than that.
4: If someone organized a blogger gathering, would you try to attend? An event of that size sounds like a high school reunion to me.
5: Have you read the pages of the bloggers above? Devotedly.
It was great seeing you last week.

ReplyDelete1: Have you met any bloggers in person? Many. Only two turned sour (unfortunately), but were fun while they lasted. All the rest have remained friends to one degree or another, to this day. I hope to meet more.
2: How far would you travel to meet a blogger in person? As far as time and budget would allow, but stateside meet-ups are more likely.
3: How did you get started with blogs (as a reader or blogger?) First started reading a blog a friend referred to me. After a few months of discovering new blogs, I thought it seemed fun, so I gave it a shot. While I hoped it would be a more humorous blog, it has run the range from bland to bold and back again and has evolved over time to be a "day in the life" blog.
4: If someone organized a blogger gathering, would you try to attend? Hell yes. I'll even help! (And may try to organize one myself.)
5: Have you read the pages of the bloggers above? Yes. Daily when possible, but always catch up if I miss a few days. And now their blogs will be even more special since we've met.
