The Saturday Morning Post: Take Flight!

The holidays are over, it is time to get 2024 off the ground. Make a plan, and get out there and do it.  Stop thinking about, and start doing it.

This is the time of the year when gyms are filled with New Year's resolutions - a great start, then keep moving through the year.

Grab a pen, pencil or keyboard and write what you are thinking.  Get that first draft on paper, edit later.  Getting started is often the hardest step.

Follow your daydreams. Be bold, embrace change, do things that frighten you. Don't fear making a mistake, those who make no mistakes, don't do anything.

Read - read lots.  Pick up a book that is outside your normal, and dive in deep.

Find different, new music, old music, music you have never heard, stop and listen to the street musician who is playing with all of their heart.

Find the beauty around you.  See the offbeat around you.  Notice the ugliness around you and resolve the make it better.

Stop floating and spread your wings.

  1. A friend of mine who is a trainer at a gym said by the end of February the memberships drop off, and the attendance falls by 30%.

But your right...and as Auntie Mame and my favorite quote says. Live! Live! Life is a banquet, and some sorry sons of bitches are starving.

  6. The first 2 weeks of January are always unpleasant at the gym. By the end of the month the resolutions are unresolved.
