Travel Tuesday: Pebble Beach California

Back in March of 2018, I spoke at a conference in San Francisco, and when it was over, I rented a car for a flow drive down the Pacific coast to Pebble Beach.  Before I left I kept asking people, how long will the drive take, and they kept saying, it depends on how heavy traffic is on the expressway.  I would clarify that I wanted to drive the old slow road along the coast, and they shrugged and said, we don't know, we never did it that way.  I am so glad I did, it was spectacular.
The had seen golf tournaments at Pebble Beach, it was an amazing drive.

  1. Photographs help us to look back. A nice collection. Did you play a few holes at Pebble Beach? I guess it's a course that is often affected by sea fogs.

    1. I last played golf in about 1980. The coastal fog was wonderful.

    1. They charge admission to drive in the neighborhood, and it is worth every penny.

  3. God I love Pebble Beach and the Monterrey area. We always drove Highway 1 when headed that way because it was such a gorgeous drive. Every so often we'd take Highway 1 from San Francisco all the way down to LA; it was a drive but so pretty.

  4. I've always thought the coastline of California is absolutely stunning. One of my favorite places when I go out to hang out is Sausalito.

  5. Being geographically challenged, myself, I thought Pebble Beach was in Florida. Here I am, just a few hop, skips and jumps away. I won't visit. Traffic, you know.
