Travel Tuesday: July 4th edition - Travel's Day Out Along Lake Erie
Defending Ohio from invasion by Michigan. The two states once declared war on one another over a ten mile wide stretch of land, Ohio lost they ended up with Toledo.
Great photos. Ohio 1, Michigan 0 with not quite a DMZ. The photo after the Lakewood sign is most certainly not a Lakewood woman but perhaps worth checking carefully.
I wonder how bad the fish cleaning got that it warranted a sign! I could live in that house, lighthouse, way out in the water; keeps the neighbors away, but maybe the runners could jog out for a spell.
Why are fish not allowed to clean? I am sure that their underwater houses and apartments get messy from time to time.
Cleveland has a special place in my heart because I spent two beautiful summers there in the mid-seventies working as a camp counsellor in the city's outer suburbs - not far from Chagrin Falls.
When I worked in Chicago, I took several tours on Lake Michigan while I was there. The massive size of the lakes is always what strikes me whenever I'm near one of the great lakes.
I GOT IN ! It turns out it was my own fault. I disallowed something call cross tracking. I turned it off. I love the photos; I miss seeing the Great Lakes; it cheers me to see them.
Great photos.

I think it is a coast guard station, we couldn't get close to it.

We have been to Chagrin Falls, J, grew up in Solon. I spent a week one summer in Pateley Bridge in Yorkshire, we should go back there.

ReplyDeleteI did one onto the Lake in Chicago, and I have done the river tour a couple of times.

I like being around water
DeleteLots of familiar sites...love the Lake Erie waterfront. Looking out over the water, it makes one feel so small.
