My Music Monday: “Yesterday When I Was Young” by Willie Nelson
For a lot of reasons, friends and family that are, facing challenges, I have been thinking more than usual about the adventure of life. The journey we are all on, the uncertainty of how long, or how far. I love this song. And I think an older artist like Willie, really nails it.
I agree with your opening line. During, and right after the pandemic, when things started opening, it seemed everyone was patience and kind, and extra nice. Sure didn't take long for everyone to get self-entitled and toxic and rude again.
Don't get me wrong, sweetie, I do like Willie Nelson. I prefer him singing his own compositions especially from way back in the day. Never cared for his singing of the standards. He's fun to watch though.

DeleteA beautiful song.
ReplyDeleteI have played it several time recently
DeleteIt is a nice song. Maybe I am not ageing as badly as I thought.
ReplyDeleteWillie has had an interesting life, and it shows. He wrote a good biography a couple of years ago.
DeleteIt seriously takes far less energy to be kind. And the rewards are better too, even if all it does it make a couple of people feel good.
ReplyDeleteAnger is exhausting for all
DeleteA perfect song today! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Deletesad spot-on
ReplyDeleteMatched my mood for the week
DeleteYes, only an older artist can sing this song of loss and regret.
ReplyDeleteI much prefer Roy Clark's version, but the song is gorgeous all on its own.
ReplyDeleteWillie is an acquired taste

DeleteI hope when we are that old, in another 30 years, we are still going as strong
