Travel Tuesday: Denver Art Museum

I have featured a few works from the collection on Fridays, but here is a major photo dump.  The museum is in two buildings, connected by an overhead walkway.  The entrance is in this spectacular building, the second building looks like a high rise prison from the outside, and has a heart of gold on the inside.

  1. This is what I miss about living in a town/city - easy access to museums and art! So thank you for this! These works are terrific.

  2. Oh how I love the architecture and the art. Great photo dump. I've never been there and it's not likely I ever will be but it sure looks amazing.

  3. What a beautiful building; it looks like a Frank Gehry design without the curves.
Cool things, inside and out, but it's that concert "body" chair that I like most; it's giving me kind of horror movie vibes.

  6. What a wonderful art museum -- I'd love to go there and see all the fab exhibits! Your last photo reminds me of a haiku I wrote years ago, based on a similar incident I observed when at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa:

    roomful of Monets --
    excited child runs to look
    out the window

    1. I don't usually post photos of children, but she looked so nice and you can't really identify her.

  8. Such a beautiful museum, I need a return visit. I was amazed to see several art pieces among your photos that were once in Phoenix.
