  1. 1. Cross country road trip moving back to Los Angeles from northern New Jersey. My older brother and I rode with my dad in a 1962 VW Beetle while my younger brother and older sister followed with my mom. Outside Las Vegas my dad had me sit in the footwell because it was the only relief from the sun and, at 5 years old, I wasn't tall enough to use the sun visor. Thanks to dad, I survived.

    2. There are a few trips that I do repeat - camping in the redwoods and the north coast, camping in Gaviota outside Santa Barbara, and a week in San Diego as a restorative.

3.Fresno - I work with many terrific people down there, but the area seems to have the least appealing aspects of that part of the world - heat in the summer, fog in the winter, and bad air quality.

    4. Dream trip would be a round trip cruise from San Francisco to the Hawaiin islands,to Australia, New Zealand and back. Don't know whether or not anyone actually does that but it's my dream, so I get to say it.

    5. Restorative trip to San Diego is coming up in November.

  2. What is your earliest memory of traveling? I like this question. Usually it's simply earliest first memory. This requires some thought. Answer: Long Island Railroad double-decker train when I was 4. We went to Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree.
If you had to pick one trip to repeat, what would it be? SO many. Florence, Italy.
Where have you traveled to, that you hope to never go back to? Missouri.
What is your dream trip? I don't have one.
Where to next? London, unless something comes up before then.

  3. 1. Pre-school. Going to Greenfield Village in Michigan. I would get hit by a car because I ran out in front of it at the Detroit airport (my dad stopped there to show me planes) on that same trip.
    2. Paris.
    3. Right now? Florida. I wouldn't give a dime to that state.
    4. I'm not sure I have one.
    5. Small trips: NYC, probably. Next big one? Contemplating Croatia-Montenegro-Greece cruise for next Spring.

  4. What is your earliest memory of traveling? Driving to Southern California to see family in my Dad's English Ford; it came with a canvas canteen you filled with water in case it overheated going over the Grapevine mountains.

If you had to pick one trip to repeat, what would it be? My very first trip to La Grande Apple; I fell in love with the city.

Where have you traveled to, that you hope to never go back to? Traveled to, and lived in, Florida. Also, traveled to Texas, and have no desire to go back.

What is your dream trip? San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

    5. Sydney for a week. We just booked, travelling there by train and returning by air.

  7. What is your earliest memory of traveling? Cross Country Bus trip from Phoenix AZ to Troy NY with my Mom and 4 siblings.

If you had to pick one trip to repeat, what would it be? With so little to choose from, I'd go with San Diego or San Francisco...I suspect both have more to offer than what I experienced on my visit to each.

Where have you traveled to, that you hope to never go back to? I'm not sure I've written off an entire locale, yet. Several downtrodden cities in NY State have depressed me and I have no desire to go back.

What is your dream trip? Not sure I have one. I've traveled so little that almost any place inside or outside of the US would count as a a dream trip for me. But places I think about: Hawaii, Ireland, France, Alaska, Italy...

Where to next? Keene, NH for Jeffrey's 56th birthday.
