Fabulous Friday: Around the World

This record has been broken, a little research shows 41 hours 7 minutes in 2013, and I think someone has recently tried to best that.  A lot of going in a short time. This one hangs in the C Concourse at Denver International Airport.

Burt Routans Voyager is in the Smithsonian, the record for around the world without refueling.  And the gondola of the balloon that flew around the world.  That museum has been undergoing a massive renovation and expansion, it is starting to reopen, I can't wait to see the renewed space.  The old space was spectacular, the new space should be fabulous.

One of the few regrets I have was chickening out on a chance to ride in a Lear jet from Florida to Arizona and back.  It was taking boat parts to Arizona, and coming right back.  It would have been a fun ride.

  3. If you're passing through Dayton, OH, we have the Air Force Museum, officially called the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Huffman Prairie, where the Wright Brothers tested their airplane before Kitty Hawk is close by and it's part of the Aviation Heritage Trail. NMUSAF is huge...you can spend as much time there as you want!

  4. That's one of my favorite spots at the Smithsonian.
And I might have liked a Lear jet ride.

  5. At first glance I thought this photo might be from the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville Oregon. It's the home of the Spruce Goose and many, many other aircraft.

  6. The majority of regret is over things not done. Keep that in mind when something new arrives.
