Sunday Five: Beyond the Bounds of Earth

1: Do you think the earth has been visited by life from other planets?

2: Would you ride a spaceplane into orbit?

3: Should humans return to the moon?

4: Have you touched a moon rock?

5: If you are old enough, where were you when man walked on the moon?

My answers:

1: Do you think the earth has been visited by life from other planets? I doubt it is carbon and oxygen based and I don't think we would recognize it if it walked down the street.

2: Would you ride a spaceplane into orbit? If it was a comfortable as an airliner, yes.

3: Should humans return to the moon? Yes. For a fraction of what we spend on defense each year, we could.

4: Have you touched a moon rock? A couple of times in the Smithsonian.

5: If you are old enough, where were you when man walked on the moon?  We were living on the farm, my parents bought their first color TV so we could stay up late and watch.

Please share your answers in the comments.

  2. 1: Do you think the earth has been visited by life from other planets? Doubtful
2: Would you ride a spaceplane into orbit? Just to orbit? No.
3: Should humans return to the moon? I would have to understand what the benefits would be. I know useful technology was developed as a result of the first moon program, but it could have been developed at a fraction of the cost of a moon program.
4: Have you touched a moon rock? I had forgotten. Yes. At the Air & Space Museum.
5: If you are old enough, where were you when man walked on the moon? Working as a camp counselor in Rockaway, NY.

  5. 1: Do you think the earth has been visited by life from other planets? Yes, and they gave it a lousy review on Travelocity

5: If you are old enough, where were you when man walked on the moon? In the family room watching in amazement.

    1. The color spectrum was very black and white from the moon, most of the color was what man brought with them. There was a boom on color TV sales that summer.
