When I travel alone, I don't mind eating breakfast or lunch alone, but as I have gotten older, I don't enjoy going out to dinner alone. I will, but I would prefer not to. If I find a local diner, like the one above in Soda Springs, Idaho I love to stop for breakfast. The food is simple, good, moderately priced and the service is polite and attentive.

DeleteYou kept writing "dinner" when you meant to write "diner". I guess that this is the kind of thing that tends to happen when someone is close to retirement. I have been in a few homely and independent diners in America. I loved them. Maybe my favourite one was in a godforsaken desert town called Boron in California but after checking Google Streetview, I do not think it is there any more. It's a hard place to make a living.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I do it to drive you crazy,
