Not only that, the hotel was fabulous. Parking is easy, with a city garage immediately behind the hotel with a door on that side into the lobby. Check in was efficient and polite. And the room was huge. There is just no other way to describe it, you could move around without bumping into things. And very comfortable.
It is part the Hilton Curio Collection, not cheap, but really not that much more than the hamster inn out by the expressway. It is right on Main Street downtown. Only a mile or so from where friends of ours live.
I still come back the size of the room, everybody loves a big one.
These days when you find a hotel you like you better keep using it. Too many hotels are sliding and aesthetic and service in my opinion. And yes the bigger the better!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you when I write some lines
DeleteIt looks great, inside and out. Hamster inn, lol. A big one is not my focus but just a bonus. (Oh how she can lie)
ReplyDeleteA couple of good lines in this one
DeleteYes, sometimes despite what “they” say, size does matter. So nice to be able to walk around your hotel room without bumping into furniture and tripping over your suitcases.
ReplyDeleteI have had rooms where I couldn't leave a case open.
DeleteThey say size doesn't matter, but they've never stayed in a teeny hotel room! And add in great service and you have a keeper.
ReplyDeleteWe shall return
DeleteHamster Inn...LOL! Main Streets in smaller towns give one a life-at-a slower pace vibe and a nice place for a relaxing stroll.
ReplyDeleteHampton Inn, becomes Hamster Inn when you are traveling with my sweetie bear
DeleteIt sounds like a great place and that is a very big room. I like Hilton properties.
ReplyDeleteThat trip was all planned at Hilton brands, then I went to Michigan for funeral
DeleteNice! I like a big hotel room too. The smallest one I ever had was in Japan. There was barely room for the two of us and our two suitcases. We were cheek by jowl, as they say.
ReplyDeleteWe had a couple of tiny rooms in London, before I learned to not go bottom fishing
DeleteI too appreciate a well-run sizable hotel room.
ReplyDeleteI like a little space and a little luxury when I travel, and convenience is everything. If there is a bar and restaurant in the hotel, I am thrilled. Not that we always patronize such places, but it's good to know its there if we are uninterested or unable to get out and about.
