Been there, done that

What do we really know about one another, we read each other's blogs, but there is more to each of us than our blog content.  So this year I am going to try to create a meme, or list of questions of the week. If you like the questions, feel free to copy and paste the questions onto your blog, and please link back to  Let me know in the comments how to find your blog and your answers.

Five Questions about where you have been:

1) If a private jet was waiting at the nearest airport to whisk you away for a week in the finest hotel suite at someone else's expense, what state would you leave for in the morning and why?

Hawaii, it is winter, it has turned cold here in DC and I keep having flashbacks to my week in paradise last winter.

2) What state have you been to, are glad you have been there, and don't really care if you ever return to and why?

North Dakota, the vastness of the landscape, the seemingly never ending plains have to be seen to be truly understood, but I see no reason to see it a second time.

3) What state have you been to, would prefer not to go back to, and why?
Mississippi, it is not the most interesting of southern landscapes and it is Mississippi.

4) What state that you have not lived in, have you visited the most times, and why?
Ohio, I passed through it a bunch of times as a teenager, Jay's family is from there so we visited a good number of times and Cincinnati was a get away trip when I lived in Kentucky.

5) State you have not been to, that you would most like to visit?
With only two left to visit, this is not easy, both!  Seriously I think Wyoming has more to see and if I had to do just one of them I would try Wyoming.

Have you been to Canada? If so, where and what was your impression?

    ~ Freckles

    1. I have been to Ontario several times. Sarnia and Windsor were close to where I grew up in Michigan and we would go over to shop and have lunch, we went to a beach town north of Sarnia a couple of times. A few years ago we went to Niagara Falls for a couple of nights, then onto Toronto for a couple of nights. Niagara is a tourist town, Toronto is a very nice modern city, lots of great food. We did a short stop over in Prince Rupert, BC on a cruise. Nice sort of frontier town.

  2. 1) Hawaii, cause I have not visited that state yet and it's warmer compared to philly

    2) Kansas (flat and full of cow shit) or Indiana (flat and full of religious shit)

    3) Florida (bugs, religious shit, disney, traffic)

    4) New York for the many sights to see

    5) I have 10 states left to visit; out of the 10 it HAS to be Hawaii

    1. Amtrak to the west Coast and there are round trip cruises from there. You can do this.

    2. Oh Anne Marie....I can often see the Holland America ship that does the San Diego/Hawaii crossing when it's at the terminal from my guest room where one might stay before leaving on the journey. The Amtrak station is only minutes from my house as well.

  3. 1) if it has to be today, Hawaii as well since it is winter. If I can wait until May....Maine.
    2) Texas, big boring and backward.
    3) Kansas, flat flat and flat.
    4) Florida, I have investment properties there but have never lived there.
    5) Maine, it's why it's on the first answer....

  4. how fun!
1 - I know of a splendid resort in Puerto Rico I wish to revisit
2 - Indiana. Their motto is you have to try through us to get somewhere else.
3 - Ohio. They are all crazy mad.
4 - WI as the Best Friend and family live there.
5 - South Carolina, if only to see the tea plantation.
