Thursday Ramble: Laughing Horse Blogger of the Year 2023

Looking back there was just a short acknowledgment of being awarded the 2023 Laughing Horse Blogger of the year award by Neil over at Yorkshire Pudding, in a Wednesday Ws post.  I apologize, I should have said more.

Though the tiara must still be in the mail, it was an honor to be recognized.  It places me in an honored list of dedicated bloggers, who have tried to make the blogosphere a better place by sharing their daily thoughts, wishes, art, and prayers with the world.

I look forward to hearing who the awardee is for 2024, congratulations to the next winner.  The good news will be posted soon.

I blog because I love doing it.  I have spent most of my adult life, trying to figure out how to live well, be comfortable in my own skin, how to be kind and encouraging to others. I try to create a little beauty and wonder in the world. Blogging gives me a place to share this. Writing for my blog every day, has improved my writing.

I hope to continue blogging until I can't do it anymore.

  1. It's a wonderful community too. I love blogging and always have. But one of the best and most unexpected parts was when I met many, bloggers and readers alike. I have no idea how long I'll go. It's already been since 2007. I was just kindly reminded by a reader that I missed my last four anniversaries.

  4. Although The Laughing Horse Blogging Awards are just a bit of fun, underneath it all I am deadly serious about praising and encouraging great examples of blogging. "The Adventures of Travel Penguin" richly deserved its 2023 accolade and now we wait to discover who will win the 2024 prize - to be awarded on the remote South Atlantic island of Tristan da Cunha on New Year's Eve.

  6. Do you remember when our blogging friendship started? You made a post asking if you could meet any blogger, who would it be? At that point our common blog was Angus and Sophie and I responded that I would love to take a walk with them in France profonde. From that response, you have commented almost daily on my blog and I thank you for that. Your blog is a joy with all its advice, thoughts, sharing your travels, and your life around DC. Keep on keeping on!

  9. I was honored to receive a special commenter's Laughing Horse Award in 2022. I have the award displayed for all to see in my home. Your award last year introduced me to your blog which I have been enjoying ever since!
