The Sunday Five: Christmas Wishes 2024

1: Is your Christmas shopping finished?

2: Are you planning anything special for Christmas Dinner?

3: Thinking back to childhood, what gifts stand out in your memory?

4: Will you be traveling over the holidays?

5: What would you like santa to bring you for Christmas?

My answers:

1: Is your Christmas shopping finished?  Yes, I start early and finish early.

2: Are you planning anything special for Christmas Dinner?  Roast beef, yorkshire puddings, a green veggie, and fruitcake.

3: Thinking back to childhood, what gifts stand out in your memory? An electric remote control truck - that my oldest brother broke,  a Whitman Coin album for pennies, and a hard cover edition of Huckleberry Finn. A grew up in a house with few books, the book stands out as a fond memory.

4: Will you be traveling over the holidays? No, it is nice to stay home.

5: What would you like santa to bring you for Christmas? Continued good health for a few more years would be nice, or an extra million.

Please share your answers in the comments.

  4. 1: Is your Christmas shopping finished? Carlos has decreed that there will be no Christmas presents this year as he has other plans for us; I am in the dark as to what they arem, but will also get a few things for him to use in the kitchen with his vision issues.

2: Are you planning anything special for Christmas Dinner? A delicious meal of Pork Tenderloin with cherries, mash potatoes and a delicious veg as well as one of Carlos' desserts and cocktails! Lowkey and peace filled.

3: Thinking back to childhood, what gifts stand out in your memory? My father used to make a game out of finding the "Santa' gifts by making us search for them via a poem Santa left; my favorite was the year I got a ten-speed bicycle an the poem had me running around house and yard before finding the Schwinn!

4: Will you be traveling over the holidays? Not all all; close to home, not even day trips, or so I've been told.

5: What would you like santa to bring you for Christmas? I ask for it every year and, sadly, am still waiting: Peace on Earth.

2: Are you planning anything special for Christmas dinner? It will be at our daughter's house. There will be nine of us - including the little granddaughters and our one year old grandson. In effect there will be two dinners - vegan and a traditional turkey one.
3: Thinking back to childhood, what gifts stand out in your memory? My "Private PK" - a large plastic toilet bag in which I kept my important stuff - pens, diary, notebook etc.. It helped me to perform my important duties.

5: What would you like Santa to bring you for Christmas? Peace for the beleaguered people of Gaza. A great new beginning for the beleaguered people of Syria. A lasting and acceptable end to the war in Ukraine. I was also going to suggest the assassination of some key political figures including an infamous American one but that's not really Christmassy is it?
