More of a castle than a palace, Avignon was on my must see list. I booked tickets online ahead of time. Follow the signs there is an underground parking garage under the village. The exit comes out just across the square from the entrance.
I've heard of Avignon many times so it is interesting to see some good photos of the town. Your photos make the weather look perfect, and maybe it was.
Great set of pictures David. The proportions of the old papal palace are stunning. In the third image before the end I see that that guy in the black polo shirt is still tailing you.

DeleteGreat photos. It does have a castle look to it. It looks like a fascinating place to visit. I'm reminded of the Met Cloisters in New York.
