It's quite something how nature transforms a landscape like such. The one reason I love living in the Northeast. We get four distinctive looking seasons.
According to the National Weather Service the average annual snowfall in DC in 13.7 inches. Most often that is 2 or 3 snows of 3 to 5 inches each. The first month I was living in the condo, and parking my car outside for the fist time in my life, we had 18 inches of snow in a week.
It's good to just stay home when we have a big snow like that! I used to love "snow days" when I was a kid! My grandsons don't get snow days off from school anymore, tho! Online learning days from home instead!

DeleteSo absolutely beautiful, and completely crippling to the DC area. I remember a half inch of snow shutting down the city.
