  1. 1. It will be no surprise to you, trains.
    2. I don't have a hotel preference. Price, dates and quality of accommodation can come from any hotel chain.
    3. Airports. I just hate them.
    4. Many times. It is nicer to have rooms rather than a room.
    5. A tent? Really? Why?

    1. The passenger train stops at Cincinnati at 2:00 AM, for some reason it has never gained popularity.

2: What is your preferred Hotel brand? I don’t have one. I tend to prefer boutique or one-off hotels.
3: What is the worst part of travel for you? Leaving the cats. (But, if traveling by air, the entire check-in/security experience.)
4: Have you rented a house or apartment on vacation? Yes, although rarely.
5: Would you spend a vacation in a tent? Nope!

    4. Once. Loved it.
    5. Unless it was Glamping, no. I consider roughing it to be Red Roof.

3: What is the worst part of travel for you? Leaving my comfort zone and the kids.
4: Have you rented a house or apartment on vacation? Once but then we had to make the beds and so, you know, no room service?

    1. For me one of the great joys of staying in hotels, is housekeeping service.

4: Have you rented a house or apartment on vacation? Yes and it's so nice to feel like you're part of the neighborhood.

  6. 1: What is your favorite way to travel? Flying to a destination
2: What is your preferred Hotel brand? Kimpton or other IHG hotels
3: What is the worst part of travel for you? The fact that I can't seem to sleep on long flights
4: Have you rented a house or apartment on vacation? I used Airbnb once but it wasn't the whole house. Just a room.
5: Would you spend a vacation in a tent? Not any more. I had fun doing that when I was young but I'm too old to do it now.
Your photo today gave me a flashback to my youth. It looks like the inside of the post office in my home town.

    1. The photo is a train station. Kimpton has some nice hotels. I agree on the long overnight flights.

  7. 1. My favourite way of travel these days is by car. My mobility issues make air travel, or any travel with a lot of walking, difficult.
    2. My preferred hotel is Holiday Inn, which will undoubtedly horrify you. But at least in Canada, they are a reliable chain where there are few surprises or undue hardships.
    3. The worst part of travel for me is, as noted, walking. It causes my legs to ache and burn, and I can't go far without stopping to let them recover. It makes for very slow going. Doing something like a walking tour is now beyond me, because I simply can't keep up with the group.
    4. A group of friends and I rented a house in Italy for our vacation there. It was a three- bedroom villa in a small town just outside Florence. It was easy to catch the tain to go into the city or elsewhere, and for farther-flung destinations, we had a rental car.
    5. A tent? Absolutely not. Are you crazy?

    4. I used to rent different houses in Northern Wisconsin for family vacations to get my kids and grandkids together in one place.
    5. No, thanks.

  11. 1. Train. You simply see more.
    2. Don't travel enough to have a favorite "brand". Anything that is clean, safe, and within the budget is good enough for me.
    3. Security theater at the airport. Again, I don't travel enough to have the routine down. You do not want to be behind me going through TSA. Unfortunately, I am That Guy.
    4. Yes in San Diego and Desert Hot Springs most recently. And there is also talk of a trip to See Ranch
5.Yes, although not recently. Favorite spots were Gaviota, the Eel River, Humboldt Redwoods, and Monterey Bay.
