The Way We Were Wednesday - The First Dance

I was the little ring bearer at Edith and Dick's wedding, I have very few memories of it.  The tradition of the first dance.  Immortalized in one of my father's slides. I was walking in old town Alexandria, and there was a young couple practicing in the park for their first dance.  As Anne Marie reminded us, Dance Like No One is Watching!

  1. May he look less pained when he has do it for real. Thanks for the view of Old Town!

    1. This is a new park at the end of King Street, the city bought and tore down the Old Dominion Yacht Club (built them a new building a couple of blocks south) and used the land for a new park and a flood control.

They don't look too self conscious for a couple dancing on grass in shorts. You are fortunate to have old slides and photos.

  3. There's a certain joy to dancing like that in the middle of a park ... even with toe stepping and pained expressions.

  4. Edith looks almost exactly like a co-worker who asked me to be a bridesmaid many, many years ago.
