I first encountered painted rocks, when a high school friend in Florida started painting them an placing / hiding them. I think placing is a better term, you want them to be seen. If you start looking around, you will see them, from time to time. John over at Going Gently showed them recently, as did the Mistress . They are not hard to do, rocks, a little paint, a simple message, tiny works of art. A few have started appearing on the top of the hill.

I haven't yet, but I would like to do a few and leave them around my neighborhood and see if they get found. I did one, and left it on Pearly's deck hidden. I'll see how long it takes her to find it!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI've never run into a painted rock anywhere. I can see how finding one can be a mood lifter. I don't have rocks in my yard, let alone paintable ones. If the circumstances were right, and I was sure I wouldn't get shot or verbally attacked by a "Karen" I'd do it!
I asked a friend of mine in Florida where she was finding the rocks and she said aisle 8 ay Lowes.
