The Way We Were Wedneday - Venice

Four years ago, seems like just yesterday, seems like a million years ago, we were in Italy in May for two weeks.  We settled into a table in St Marks Square, I ordered and an Aperol Spritz and soaked in the surroundings.  Pictures like this take me back to that time and place.  I have 150,000+ frequent flyer miles on one airline, where should we go when it is time to travel again?  Where do you plan to go?

  3. Right now, can't imagine traveling. But I've always wanted to visit Pompei and Herculaneum. Then again, there are great cities in Spain I'd still love to get to.

  5. Your photo looks very familiar to me but my trip to Venice was eight years ago. However, I was just in Milan and Bellagio last year for two weeks in May. I feel the same way, it almost feels like just yesterday. If life was normal, I'd be planning another trip right now.

    1. Oh yes, we were only there for a day in March, and it reminded me of all of the reasons I need to spend more time in London, we have never been to Scotland, we need to do that.

  7. Camping! We canceled our anniversary Hawaiian cruise and after the horrors those people who were stuck on those ships went through, I don't think I will get on another floating petri dish. Of course, if the price is right...

  9. I was in Venice for a couple of nights in 1970 on a college trip. I would love to go back to the UK, and London, specifically, but unless I come into a chunk of money that would allow me to charter a plane and then hire a personal driver if we go out and about in the countryside. Seriously, if I had big bucks, I wouldn't buy expensive toys, cars, houses, etc., I would spend it on travelling in style and safely, with handicap accessibility, as appropriate.

Thinking about a local holiday to the north of Australia for warm weather in late winter, but it is too early to plan yet.
