Should I

It has been about 40 years since the last time I went fishing.  That was on a pier in Florida, with a friend. After an hour of nothing happening, I left my fishing equipment behind and went to the bar. I love being near the water, I sometimes wonder if I should try fishing again.  Do I have the patience to deal with it, after all it is called fishing not catching.

Do you fish?

  1. If you want to I say go for it. I use to fish all the time when I was younger...mostly trout. I don't eat fish so I gave them to others to prepare and eat.

  2. I think going to the bar is the BEST way to go fishing. Especially if they serve Pepperidge Farm goldfish. Score!

I think you would have to consider it as reflection or reading time, with a line in the water. So boring.

  4. I agree with wcs, the bar and goldfish. I've been fishing on the Atlantic with my father and I've been fishing on lakes in Minnesota and South Dakota with SG's father. Nice father time... but that's all I got out of it.

    1. I never tried deep sea fishing, we had a charter booked once, but the weather was terrible and the boat operator handed us back the deposit, got in his truck and drove away.

  6. Goddess, nothing bores me more than fishing. I love the water and being near, and in, the water, but not fishing in it!!!

  7. I have only been fishing once, out in a small boat on a northern Saskatchewan lake. Caught a small, but still legal, pickerel. It scared me to death to feel it fighting me on the line. I felt bad about taking its life. Never been fishing again.

  9. I haven't fished since I was a kid. It was fun but I didn't like hurting the fish so I quit.
