Fun Friday! - Top Down Driving

Is it genetic that I love a convertible(cabriolet,) a car with the top down?  This is my great grandparents on my mother's side. Cruising with the top down.  My father hated convertibles, and was not shy about his reasons why.  My mother was always strangely quiet on the subject.  I think the only car she ever really liked, was a VW diesel station wagon (estate car) they owned as a tow car during the motorhome episode.

If it is even moderately warm, and the sun is out, the top goes down.  Now maybe I know where I get that from.

Find a sunny day, and let your hair blow in the breeze.

If by some strange reason we had convertible car, I would always find reasons to keep the hood over me. Too hot, too cold, too sunny...risk of sunburn. Insects, leaves falling. Looks like rain so not worth putting it down. I just occurred to me that old cars were very noisy and with a fabric hood over you, there wouldn't be much sound insulation.

  5. I've never had a convertible, but the first car I bought with a sun roof was fabulous.

  6. Someone has a convertible christened "The Precious" it isn't much fun in the hot ardent Arizona summer months though. When I am in it I always wear my bright magenta-tinted safety goggles and feel like royalty.
