Fabulous Friday - Coming in Hot

When I think of Fabulous I think of Prada, Gucci, Chanel, and others, but nature also has fabulousness.  There is an old ditty about favorite things, that includes birds on the wing, and a flight of geese can be spectacular.  Come visit one winter, we can go down to Huntley Meadows early in the day and see hundreds of them. The sound is amazing when 50 or 100 geese take flight, zoom by, then with everything extended, land in the water with a splash.

  1. Glorious. Just don’t stand below and look up. And don’t walk where they’ve walked!

I suppose they are Canadian Geese? How great to see them. Does the water never freeze over?

    1. I wonder if they ever think, why do humans walk in our poo

  4. I caught a heron coming in for a landing once, and a hawk catching a fish. I wished the pictures didn't blur so. Like drag queens coming in for landings with all those feathers.

  6. I can't imagine the sound of 50 or 100 at once. The few (5 or 6)that fly past my windows in the morning make enough noise to wake me up.

  7. I've been chased by geese on different occasions. Not so fabulous! I do like to hear them sounding like folks at a cocktail party. Our old house was under their flight pattern to the golf course. Took a while to get used to.

  9. I find fabulousness and awe in so many things. The beauty of a yard alive with insects on a warm summer day. The trust between a a human and animal that share a home. The perfectly made cocktail. The strength of those around me who struggle to carry on. The detail and thought put into the Friends Lego kit I just completed. Life is wonderful in so many ways if we just open our eyes and look and appreciate the wonder in what we're seeing.
