Sunday Five: 2020

Well I have to admit, 2020 was not what any of us expected, yet there has to be something good in here.  Let me ask?

  1. What was the biggest surprise of 2020?
  2. What brought you good luck in 2020?
  3. Name one positive thing you experienced in 2020?
  4. What did you do in 2020, that you never thought you would be able to do?
  5. What made you laugh in 2020?
My answers:

  1. What was the biggest surprise of 2020? Losing my job!

What brought you good luck in 2020? I'd have to say nature. It kept me grounded and sane.

Name one positive thing you experienced in 2020? Rekindling friendships and touching base with long ago friends. But sad it took a pandemic to do so.

What did you do in 2020, that you never thought you would be able to do? Socially distance. Being extremely social...I didn't know how this would pan out. And it came mightly scary once.

What made you laugh in 2020? Rodney Dangerfield.

A straight man might say nice **** about the photo but as I am not one of them I won't.
    1. The obedience of my state's population to our strict COVID lock down.
    2. Lucky to have a brief holiday in March to our island state of Tasmania just as the COVID situation became apparent. You had your overseas holiday about the same time, as I recall.
    3. Deliberate rather than casual exercising walking. Now without COVID, that has fallen a bit beside the wayside as we return to our normal lives.
    4. Make the best of difficult times, and adjusting to them.
    5. I hate Mrs Brown's Boys but I can't help but laugh at times as my partner watches 'her'. I laughed at podcasts recorded by our government radio station ABC of comedians on stage and two men in particular who were great.

    1. Great answers, my office went from 3% telecommute to 97% telecommute in 24 hours, amazing. My count will be out in a few days, I read fewer books this year as a result of the change in my commute.
