I plan a national conference, last fall I settled on a theme of Vision 2020, as a play on words from 20/20 vision for this fall. I had no idea how far off that vision would be. So this week, let's talk about the adventure that has been 2020.
1: Have you waited in a socially distanced line to enter a store?
2: How many face-masks do you have?
3: Has anyone hassled you about wearing a face mask?
4: Have you stayed healthy?
5: What are you most looking forward to when this is over?
My answers:
1: Have you waited in a socially distanced line to enter a store? Only once, at IKEA, I didn't wait to get into Trader Joes, Jay went a couple of days later in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week, when there was no wait.
2: How many face-masks do you have? Five cloth ones, and I bought a box of disposable paper ones. Most of mine are boring basic black.
3: Has anyone haseled you about wearing a face mask? I have not, Jay was questioned by a yahoo.
4: Have you stayed healthy? Yes, fortunately.
5: What are you most looking forward to when this is over? Booking airline tickets for the next great adventure.

1. The supermarket. Once.
ReplyDelete2. Two. One provided by our town, the other bought in a pharmacy. Washable cloth masks.
3. Nope.
4. So far, so good.
5. Being able to shop in the supermarket normally.
Ordering online with drive through pick up, is not the same. The farmers markets here are not as much fun this summer.
Delete1. Once, to enter a cafe for takeaway. Never again - too much trouble.
ReplyDelete2. No face masks yet but I am thinking of buying some soon. (We live in an area where they are not required yet but I am sure they will be).
3. No hassle - see 2 above.
4. Yes, both of us are well, fortunately
5. Seeing my granddaughter, who is 600 miles away, for the first time.
Good hear from someone new.

ReplyDelete1. Quite a number of times. Places like cafes only doing takeaway had limits imposed according to their floor space. Usually two or three people. We queued for a short time a couple of times to enter supermarkets.
ReplyDelete2. Down to ten disposable surgical masks. We must buy some tomorrow.
3. At the moment while compulsory, you will get a hard time if you don't wear a mask.
4. Physically yes and fitter than I was last March. Mentally, I have my moments.
5. Looking forward to arguing about having my *insert appropriate swear word* useless passport extended by one year.
I renewed my access to the express lane at immigration online, it was approved in less than a week, not like I can go anyplace with it, but I am ready when the world reopens.
DeleteI also have 5 masks but they are made of cloth that can be washed again and used repeatedly. And my mask is patterned on traditional or ethnic fabrics.
