Many years ago I represented a guy with schizophrenia and dementia. He not only did what the voice(s) told him to do, often he couldn't remember what he did. I asked him about the trees, and he said, "god told me to cut them down, she said they were full of evil!" The voice that guided his behaviour and informed him of good and evil was female.
Is yours male or female, or both?
there is no god, I think for myself. I am female I am woman HEAR ME ROAR!
ReplyDeleteYou are mighty
DeleteDon’t have one, but if I did I would want it to be a female voice, I think. And sounding like Judy Dench. Or my friend Tere.
ReplyDeleteJudy does judgemental so well.
DeleteMine seem to be gender-fluid these days.
ReplyDeleteGood.
DeleteWell I was raised Catholic so I was trained that God was a man with a beard, penis and testicles like all men, so obviously he had a great booming male voice. The only time I hear a female voice, will go something like, "stop eating cookies before you have supper". That voice in my head sounds a lot more like mom than some deity!
ReplyDeleteMoms haunt us that way
DeleteI prefer to characterize the divine using female imagery. The patriarchal tradition has lasted long enough.
ReplyDeleteSo true
DeleteMy god is male. My conscience, however is female as it uses my voice. Of course, my voice has been mistaken as male on several occasions, but that's neither here nor there.
ReplyDeleteWe hear you, and love it
DeleteWhile I don't have a god, at times Mother Nature speaks to me and of course she has a female voice.
ReplyDeleteThere was a television commercial in the USA with the tag line, "it is not nice to fool mother nature!"
