The Sunday Five: Public Transportation

1: Is there local public bus service available where you live?

2: Is there subway (underground) train service where you live?

3: Is there taxi service available where you live?

4: Can you walk to grocery shopping from where you live?

5: When was the last time you used public transportation?

My Answers:

1: Is there local public bus service available where you live? Yes, but I almost never use it.

2: Is there subway (underground) train service where you live? 10 minute walk away.

3: Is there taxi service available where you live? Yes, good service.

4: Can you walk to grocery shopping from where you live? There are two specialty markets that are walkable. Not really the kind of a general grocery store I would like to be near.

5: When was the last time you used public transportation?  Yesterday.

Please share your answers in the comments.

  2. 1. Yes.
    2. Technically no. Light rail only, but at one point it goes under some buildings.
    3. I assume downtown there is of some kind
    4. No. Allegedly in a year a new one will come where that would be possible.
    5. Yesterday.

    1. I would consider the light rail, the equivalent of a subway. We haven't ridden the Rapid in years.

  3. 1: Is there local public bus service available where you live? Not really; buses for travel to Columbia but no bus service in Camden.
2: Is there subway (underground) train service where you live? Oh gosh no.
3: Is there taxi service available where you live? Camden does have a taxi company; two cars I believe <<<<joke.
4: Can you walk to grocery shopping from where you live? It'd be a hike, but I could and I don't.
5: When was the last time you used public transportation? On a weekend away in Savannah last month.

  4. 1: Is there local public bus service available where you live? Yes. The RTA is THE public transportation service for the Dayton area.
2: Is there subway (underground) train service where you live? No.
3: Is there taxi service available where you live? There is, it's a very small service - mainly from the airport. If a person wants to take a taxi, he or she must call to arrange the pick up. Uber and Lyft are easier than calling a taxi .
4: Can you walk to grocery shopping from where you live? Yes.
5: When was the last time you used public transportation? In early June, a bus in St. Louis.
