Fabulous Friday - The Perfect Shot

Is there such a thing as a perfect photograph?  Way back in ancient history I tried my hand at professional photography.  Every job that someone paid me for, I saw the flaws in.  Shots that I thought were amazing, clients would point out the flaws in.

It drove me a little crazy.

Now I take photos for the fun of it.  My keeper rate, is probably 1 in 100 that I think are good enough.  One in a thousand I want to print and frame.  The one where the fat crow lifts a leg to take flight into the rising sun, just as I click the shutter.

  1. Such perfect timing. Beautiful. Although, I must admit my mind was elsewhere when I read the title. I thought, Oh yeah I’ll have a shot of something. Maybe caramel vodka this morning.

I am such a poor viewer of photos, missing the detail such as not noticing the bird in the photo lifting its leg before take off.

  4. I love to take pictures for the fun and spontaneity, the slowing down to really look at what's around you at that moment in time.

  6. I did the same when I was in my 20's. I took wedding photos and learned to hate it. Back then, female photographers were rare and consequently, wedding guest thought they would do a better job and were always in my way. My mother made me coat with "Photographer" on the back thinking that would help. It didn't. It turned out for the best. I'm much happier taking photos for myself.

  10. when I do take photos I try to think what I am doing and hope for the best. Most of my 'best shots' were unintended and surprising to me.
