Mouse Town

A change in latitude, a change in attitude, the next trip after New York, was Florida.  Orlando was home for me from 1980 to 1995.  The area grew a lot while I was there, and had doubled or tripled in size since then.   I have been to Walt Disney World at least 100 times.  The first time was in January of 1972, just a few months after it opened.  Given a choice, I return the Magic Kingdom.  My middle brother has worked for the rat for 41 years, we went to the Magic Kingdom for the day.

Have you been to a Disney Park?

  1. Disneyland, four times: in the late 50s, the mid 60s, summer of 1969, and 1988. It was interesting to see the changes through the years to keep up with the times. Florida Disney once in the late 1990s.

  2. Disneyland, on several occasions since I was eight. I think it is highly overrated. I prefer Knott's Berry Farm. I do think a child should be able to visit at least once. The last time was ten years ago. We treated my youngest son and his family and made a weekend of it. The granddaughters were 2 and 4 at the time. Towards the end of the day, Mickey Mouse kind of crept up in back of us. Scared the crap out of the two year old! She was inconsolable, and tired so we had to leave. Good times. Family park my patootie! Nowadays you have to sell your house and first born to pay for admittance for a family of four!
