Iconic ICON wheel

At 400 feet tall, this is tall on the flat Florida landscape.  I have ridden the London Eye, so why not the Orlando Icon.

I went mid afternoon on a Friday.  I had a pod all to myself.  The rotation takes about 20 minutes, very relaxing. Being that it is an area I know well, I had fun picking places I knew, and things that have changed.

Have you ridden on of these?

  1. no; my fear of heights would have me getting sick in the pod. (barf)

  2. I LOVE Ferris wheels. They bring back memories of my sister. I’ve never seen this one. Plan to soon ride the one in Malaga and, in September, another ride on the Wonder Wheel in Coney Island. The last time was in the ‘60s!

  5. I've never ridden on one with pods. I prefer the open, swinging, maybe gonna tip over, seated kind. I don't mind heights as long as there is a rail or barrier of some kind. I can do a Ferris Wheel, but I can't climb a ladder.

  6. Someone would rather eat rats at Tewkesbury than ride a ferris wheel, so I have not been in one in nearly 30 years.
