The Sunday Five: Growing

This plant, is growing the hollow at the top of a post.  It is growing in a place that was not meant to be grown in, a place where the post has deteriorated, rotting from the inside out. Yet there it is, green and growing.  In another 50 years it could be a mighty tree, that started life in the most unlikely of places.

  4. 1. I don't read to expand my mind. I do it to escape lingering in my mind's total awesomeness *cough*.

    2. A hand painted thank you note from my very talented granddaughter.

    3. I would move tomorrow back to Thursday so the guy could get the part to my water heater before Monday. Microwaved basin water for the weekend. Hot weekend. Lots of sweat. Not what you meant? Tough noogies.

    4. I smile a lot actually. Nervous habit. People think I'm happy all of the time. I do say hi to strangers even to the Karens who ignore me. There was also that guy who asked me to go dancing in Tijuana. Maybe I should stop.

    5. Nope.

I have to work hard to keep what;s already in my mind from dribbling out. I fear expanding it would only make things slosh around more.

What piece of art caught your eye recently?
    Same one, interestingly enough.

If you could move tomorrow, would you want to?
I'm quite happy where we are; maybe further into Old Town, but who could afford that?

Do you smile and say hello to strangers you pass on the street?
Sometimes. I find it usually puts them off balance and, hence, keeps them away from me, which is my ultimate purpose.

What do you dream of doing, that you haven't done yet?
Getting my French or Italian up to speed to better enjoy that month.

  8. 1: What is the most mind expanding thing you have read recently? I am rereading The Alienist and came to a part of the story where people believed that when you died, the last image you saw would stay in your eyes and could be photographed. In this case, they believed the victim of a murder might have the murderer's face in their eyes.
