My grandparents were alive when the Wright Brothers and others were first experiencing controlled flight, my father was born the year Lindbergh flew the Atlantic solo, I was grew up in the space race, and lived in the shadow of the Kennedy Space Center for years. The Chinese recently brought back lunar soil, are we on the verge of new space exploration? Would you go to the moon for the weekend, if you could do so comfortably and safely?
Just be careful about those pod bay doors, they can be tricky.
I'd love to see the view from space but don't care for the idea of us destroying another planet, so I'll stay here. When I was at U, our synchronized swim team performed a big number to this song. It began with a friend of mine, a woman of Amazon proportions, doing some choreography at the side of the pool before diving in. That is ALL I picture when I hear this music. A blond Amazon... flexing.
when NASA and space exploration was at its zenith, I was a boy and had such hopes for mankind and the future. There was faith in science and in optimism of the race.
No... I wouldn't go. Humans cant take care of their own planet.

ReplyDeleteAmazing how music fuses to memories in our brains.
DeleteI don't know why anyone would want to go to the moon. Not much fun to be had there.
ReplyDeleteAnd no Hilton to stay in.
DeleteI’m still trying to get to another country. Another planet is beyond my grasp.

JFK or Boston, to UK is easy, when the airports reopen.
DeleteIf I was about 15 years younger...yes I'd go.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with that.
Deletenah, I'm an earth kid.
ReplyDeleteAnd very down to earth you are.
DeleteIf I want to visit gray and dusty, all I have to do is go to any room in my house. No muss, no fuss.
ReplyDeleteDrive out into the desert, and it will be just like Mars.
