Sunday Five - Sunrise - Sunset

My somewhat wonky digestion woke me early one morning recently, I decided as long as I was up I would grab the camera and head down to the river to watch the sunrise.  I haven't intentionally gone out to watch the sunrise in decades.  It was very cloudy and not the best for photos, but I did see geese and ducks that have usually fed and moved on before I get there.  Most mornings the sun rises while I am reading blogs in my bedroom.  So this weeks Sunday Five - sunrise-sunset.

  1. When was the last time you paused to watch the sunrise?
  2. Are you a fan of mornings, or would you prefer that the day started at noon?
  3. Are you more likely to be out and about at Noon or Midnight?
  4. Do you have a nice view from home for sunsets?
  5. If you could watch the sunset anyplace in the world tonight, where would it be?
My answers:

  1. When was the last time you paused to watch the sunrise?  A week or so ago, for the first time in a long time.
  2. Are you a fan of mornings, or would you prefer that the day started at noon? I am more of morning person, no offense to noon, but my day is half over by then.
  3. Are you more likely to be out and about at Noon or Midnight? Noon, it is rare for me to be awake at midnight.
  4. Do you have a nice view from home for sunsets? Not really, if we were on the other end of the building and about 10 floors up, it would be better.
  5. If you could watch the sunset anyplace in the world tonight, where would it be? I remember the most spectacular sunsets in Arizona, maybe over the Grand Canyon.
Please share your answers in the comments.

    4 - the living room

5 - somewhere on highway 1 on the california coast

I see sunrises frequently in the winter, and now daylight saving has just begun here, maybe I will see them again for a short time.
I'm an early person. Stayed up too late last night sorting out the world's problems with my partner and paid the price today.
We did stay up past midnight last night, but that is exceptional.
Excellent sunrise views but never sunsets.
Sunset at Uluru, formerly known as Ayers Rock while having a white table cloth outdoor meal.

  5. When was the last time you paused to watch the sunrise? Yesterday. I do most days and sometimes even get out for a walk while it's happening.
Are you a fan of mornings, or would you prefer that the day started at noon? My mood needs a kickstart early in the day, but I hate missing mornings.
Are you more likely to be out and about at Noon or Midnight? Noon these days.
Do you have a nice view from home for sunsets? Yes from the side and back terrace we can watch the sunset or see it reflected in the clouds and sky over the beach out front.
If you could watch the sunset anyplace in the world tonight, where would it be? I would love to watch the sunset over the Trump administration.

  6. When was the last time you paused to watch the sunrise? It’s been awhile. We often leave for home after vacation at the crack of dawn, so watching the sun rise as we had home is a common (and beautiful) sight.

Are you a fan of mornings, or would you prefer that the day started at noon? Morning. I live the quiet and stillness and promise of a new day, especially if it involves coffee on a deck, patio, or porch.

Are you more likely to be out and about at Noon or Midnight? Noon. Exceptions being vacations in Ptown, where I’ve been known to close out a piano bar or two.

Do you have a nice view from home for sunsets? No

If you could watch the sunset anyplace in the world tonight, where would it be? The sunset at Mallory Square in Key West was breathtaking, but I’d still prefer to be watching the sunset in Ptown. Or the sunrise. Or anything in Ptown. Because I love and miss it.

  7. When was the last time you paused to watch the sunrise? I, too, had a fitful night's sleep about a week ago, and awoke at 4AM. So, while I didn't plan it, I did see the sunrise over Casa Bob y Carlos.

Are you a fan of mornings, or would you prefer that the day started at noon? I used to be the night owl, and would often stay awake until just before dawn, but not I am definitely a morning guy.

Are you more likely to be out and about at Noon or Midnight? Noon.

Do you have a nice view from home for sunsets? It's nice because we are surrounded by trees so the pinks and the oranges trickle through the leaves.

If you could watch the sunset anyplace in the world tonight, where would it be? Bodega Head, California.
