Iron Chef Morimoto

I love to cook, I like to eat, I will eat almost anything.
I loved Iron Chef, the slight weirdness of the format, in the early series produced in Japan the cultural differences.

When I was in Florida in March, I spent a couple of nights at what is now known as Disney Springs, it was originally Disney Village at Lake Buena Vista.  Iron Chef Morimoto has a restaurant there.  I didn't have reservations, but I was early and the host said, give me a few minutes and I will text you when I have a no-show.  And she did.

The Asian glazed ribs were to die for.  The rice noodle and shellfish dish was amazing. I also had steamed dumplings (potstickers) I can seldom resist potstickers.  The space is amazing and the food will blow your mind, if not your budget. I ordered too much food and couldn't finish it all.

Do you follow celebrity chefs?

  1. I don't. The only reason I know any is because my mother watched the cooking shows (not the competitions), so I would see them when I would visit. I'm not really a fan of celebrity anything, and especially not the shows that can got ugly. But I DO love the look of that food.

  5. Nope, not since Graham Kerr, when I was a kid. Not a foodie but I do like some of the baking competitions. The ones that don't get bitchy. I do love Duff Goldman, though. What that man can do with a cake!

    1. Graham Kerr was a scream, until he decided he needed to cook healthy. Duff is such a sweetie bear.

    2. @duchess, you can find graham kerr clips all over youtube. my mother used to LOVE him; it's that accent. confidentially, a british accent makes me puddle up; must be my brit ancestry.

    3. Thanks, Anne Marie. I thought I was a kid when his show was on. Turns out, I was 13 and watched for 3 years. I watched with my maternal grandmother. She loved it and Hee Haw. I have fond memories of her more so than the episodes themselves. That's probably where my love of Roy Clark has its origins. As for that accent, love it! I, however, have to watch all of my dvds of Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes with subtitles. It's English, and fast.
