My answers:
- Does it snow where you live? Not much and not often.
- Can you ice skate? Nope.
- Do you prefer a warm fireplace, or a warm sunny beach? Tough one, we are really not beach people.
- How would you describe the building on the horizon in this photo? Dysfunctional government at its best.
- How many national capitals have you visited? DC, Paris, London, Rome, Athens, Madrid, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin; 9 - more than I thought before I made a list.
Does it snow where you live? Yes. But not often the last few years, even though we just got 8" last week.
ReplyDeleteCan you ice skate? Nope , me either.
Do you prefer a warm fireplace, or a warm sunny beach? Sunny beach.
How would you describe the building on the horizon in this photo? Chaos. Always.
How many national capitals have you visited? Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, Berlin, Budapest, DC, London, Montevideo, San Jose, Nairobi, Ottawa, and Vienna. I had more than I thought too. Had to really think about this one.
Only 8 inches?
Delete1. Yes. Yes it does.
ReplyDelete2. I can. It's been a few years, but I can.
3. I'll take the beach.
4. House of Sedition.
5. 6.
And the Senate of our discontent.
Delete1. Snow? I live in Canada, what do you think, LOL?
ReplyDelete2. Yes, I can skate but very badly. The last time I was on skates was 1977.
3. Fireplace, please!
4. Not far enough away.
5. Five, maybe six -- Ottawa, London, Rome, Tokyo, Seoul, Papeete (although I don't know if that counts as a "national" capital since Tahiti is still part of France).
1977 - my last try on ice skates was probably 1972. I was a child.
DeleteDoes it snow where you live? Yes it does but not every winter. I call them "green winters".
ReplyDeleteCan you ice skate? I tried it as a child in Inverness, Scotland but failed abysmally. Ice is as hard as concrete.
Do you prefer a warm fireplace, or a warm sunny beach? A warm, sunny beach.
How would you describe the building on the horizon in this photo? A place where those who stoke up insurrection become presidents.
How many national capitals have you visited? At a rough guess I would say thirty... I haven't been to Washington D.C., Canberra, Stockholm, Ankara, Vientiane, Prague, Pretoria, Rabat or Ottawa though I have visited the countries of which they are capitals. Capitals I have visited include Suva, Phnom Penh, Bangkok, Auckland, Vaduz, Andorra, Lisbon, Athens, Oslo, Copenhagen, Nicosia, Rome, Andorra, Luxembourg, Valetta, Reykjavik and Budapest.
I wish I had kept a travel journal, yours would be much thicker than mine.
DeleteDoes it snow where you live? Almost unheard of.
ReplyDeleteCan you ice skate? I could. But I haven’t since I was 14!
Do you prefer a warm fireplace, or a warm sunny beach? Both
How would you describe the building on the horizon in this photo? Disappointing
How many national capitals have you visited? No clue
When it snows in southern Spain, the world will hear about it.
Delete1. Yes
ReplyDelete2. When I was a kid but not for many, many, many years!
3. A warm beach but I am rarely near one.
4. Disappointing
5. I've been to 4: Rome, Italy; Kigali, Rwanda; Washington, D.C.; and Beijing, China
Asia is still on my wish list.
Delete1. Does it snow where you live? No (we do have a rare sprinkle)
ReplyDelete2. Can you ice skate? No
3. Do you prefer a warm fireplace, or a warm sunny beach? Hmmm...the fireplace is calling to me at the moment.
4. How would you describe the building on the horizon in this photo? A beautiful space filled with many idiots.
5. How many national capitals have you visited? Paris, London, Rome, Munich, Buenos Aires, Brussels, Vaduz and Vatican City if that counts.
P.S. It was fun thinking about all those places!
ReplyDeleteI have been to Munich, we flew home from there in 2015.
DeleteSharon, please. Munich is not the capital of Germany. Berlin is.
Delete1. It snows close enough to drive to. I just get frosted. California, what can I say?
ReplyDelete2. Ice skate? Bite your tongue! Roller skating was my jam.
3. I'm a big ol' beach baby. Been that way since birth. San Diego, what can I say?
4. Looney bin. In this case the term is politically correct.
5. None.
The ability to go from surf to snow in a couple of hours drive, is just part of the magic of where. you live, along with you. It is so great to read your comments. Roller skating was a fail for me.
DeleteI have to correct #5. I was thinking capitol buildings not the actual cities. Duh! I've been to Albany, Honolulu and Sacramento.
Delete1. Does it snow where you live? Rarely. We got ten inches in 2014 and then about an inch last week; closed the whole town down!
ReplyDelete2. Can you ice skate? I can, and have; I've even skated at the Olympic rink built for the Squaw Valley [Now Olympic Valley] Olympics.
3. Do you prefer a warm fireplace, or a warm sunny beach? I can do both ... a sandy beach on Maui? A cold winter's fireplace at home? Yes.
4. How would you describe the building on the horizon in this photo? A hot mess.
5. How many national capitals have you visited? Ottawa, London, DC, Mexico ... I need to catch up with the rest of you.
Just stay warm this week.
DeleteDoes it snow where you live? Yes, byt not as much as it used to.
ReplyDeleteCan you ice skate? I have a few times, and probably could still stay upright and move a little, but I would not risk it at this point in my life.
Do you prefer a warm fireplace, or a warm sunny beach? If those are my only choices, warm fireplace. I'm not a beach person.
How would you describe the building on the horizon in this photo? Tainted.
How many national capitals have you visited? Maybe 3?
We are not really beach people, I was once upon a time.

ReplyDelete1. Does it snow where you live? Occasionally. We have several days this coming week where snow is forecast but we'll see.
2. Can you ice skate? I could when I was a kid but haven't for decades and I'd be afraid to try it now.
3. Do you prefer a warm fireplace, or a warm sunny beach? Both but I guess at my age it would have to be the fireplace. Unfortunately the closest I get to one now is the Yule Log on TV.
4. How would you describe the building on the horizon in this photo? The U.S. Capitol, a place filled with idiots and souless blowhards.
5. How many national capitals have you visited? Let's see. Washington, London, Paris. Only three. Four, if Monte Carlo, Monaco counts.
Let us hope for a meaningful election in two years.
