You Are So Beautiful - Just The Way You Are
We Must Love Ourselves - First
Be True To Thine Own Self
We waste so much time thinking about what others think of us, when in reality, most of the time, others barely notice we exist. I saw a television commercial with Marie Osmond the other day, she is about my age, and honestly there is so much plastic in her face that she looks like an artificial flower. Her face is pulled so tight, that when she blinks her eyes, her toes curl up. She is trying so hard to look young, that she does not look like the beautiful person she could have aged into.
Vanity is such a waste of time and energy. You are so beautiful, just the way you are. Don't worry about what other might think. Be yourself, be comfortable.
When you love yourself, for who you are, you don't need to try to alter yourself, hoping that others will love you. In other words, unnecessary cosmetic surgery, or overly done makeup is a sign of self hatred. Love yourself for who you are.
For the first half of my life, I tried hard to be someone I was not. I even married a woman, it was what was expected. Maybe it would change me. All it did was make two people unhappy. I was not being true to myself, I didn't love who I was, making it hard for me to love someone else, or for someone to love me. I learned to be true to myself, to live my life as I am. To judge my life, rather than letting others judge me. Most of them barely notice anyway.
So wear the crop top. Take a cruise instead of having plastic surgery. Be comfortable in your own skin. Be true to yourself. Be happy. Happy people are always more fun to be around.
I agree! And I will never understand the whole plastic surgery thing. I little nip there and here and done no biggie, but most of these people who do it, look so much worst then before, or are unrecognizable.
ReplyDeleteWe have societal problems when people in their 20's are getting plastic surgery. I feel for them that they are not happy, and most likely will never be.
And media fans the flames of self hatred.
DeleteMaybe some people have plastic surgery that is subtle and we don't notice they have gone under the knife. They just look good. I don't know but I agree with you about extreme surgery. Why do people want to look so absurd.
ReplyDeleteHowever my friend, we must be sensible about this 'be who you are'. Neither you nor I should wear a crop top.
A little to much, of letting it all hang out.
DeleteI feel sorry for those who undertake vanity cosmetic surgery. Grow old gracefully and be proud of who you are is what I say. If you are beautiful on the inside it will show on the outside.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for those who undergo unnecessary vanity cosmetic surgery. They would be better off receiving counselling instead. If you are beautiful on the inside it will show on the outside.
ReplyDeleteYes, and yes. All but the delete ended up in spam this morning.

Good advice. Wear the crop top!

Delete"A face without wrinkles is like a book without words."
ReplyDeleteI like that.
DeleteThere are some who do the surgical tweaks nicely and some who don't; I'm looking at you Madonna.
ReplyDeleteI've no problem with people doing a little something but it can become an addiction and then you get the late Jocelyn Wildenstein.
Madonna is looking a bit strange these day.
DeleteI'm with you on this one. No plastics for me!
ReplyDeleteI have earned my wrinkles
DeleteI recently went to my primary care doctor for a skin issue because the next available appointment with my dermatologist was over a month away. I asked her for a new dermatologist recommendation and she said that dermatology is now driven by botox and fillers and it's hard to get in anywhere for any other dermatologic concern.
ReplyDeleteSB was able to find one here quickly.
DeleteI'm sorry for the unhappy part of your life but glad that you learned from it and became yourself: a happy man.
ReplyDelete32 years of happiness.
DeleteGood advice, David.
