Disney has long gone all out to decorate Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida for Christmas. This photo was taken in the 1970's the scene would be very much the same today on a rainy December Day.
Disney invited choirs from around the country for a special evening parade and performance in front of the train station. I was there for that a couple of times, Rock Hudson was the special guest one time.
I’ve been to Disneyland many times, and in our last years in the States we lived 10 minutes away. But I’ve never been to Disneyworld. And never to the Land at Christmas. That must have been so much fun when you were a kid. And Rock Hudson!
ReplyDeletethe Park opened in October, my first visit was in January, then about once a year for a decade or so, then several times a year for a decade.

DeleteI've been to Disneyland a few times at Christmas but it was way back in the 70's and 80's. I remember those wonderful decorations. They were very magical.
ReplyDeleteA couple of times my middle brother hauled the tree to the staging area to be prepared to be craned over the train station.
DeleteThe visiting choirs must have been very special.
ReplyDeleteI went with a High School choir one year, the event cancelled because of bad weather.
