Super Bowl
I built a house one time (I have about 500 stories that start with that phrase) for a young woman. When she came in to sign the contract her father came along. I am not sure what he was there for, she was a bright and careful person who knew what she was doing, but fathers can be protective. I commented about a very large gold and diamond ring he was wearing. He slipped it off, and handed it to me, and told me to slip it on, then take a careful look. I did, and as I read it, I realized it was a Super Bowl ring. He was a retired professional football player, turned building supply dealer. He said, you will be able to say, you once wore a Super Bowl ring, few people can say that.
If I were a big football fan, I'd get more mileage out of that story.
Should men wear big gold and diamond rings?

I have seen the world series ring cases at the baseball HoF in cooperstown NY. the rings used to be modest, now they are just plain gaudy/ugly/vulgar. so HELL NO! but lucky you to try one on!
ReplyDeleteMen should wear whatever they want... but those big, gold and diamond rings turn me off. They make me think of mob bosses and pimps. I saw a guy the other day, someone I know, whose fingers were covered in giant silver and onyx rings. He likes to see himself as leader of a biker gang. He just looks silly. All that said, I'm back to my original statement that men should wear whatever they want.
ReplyDeleteI adore big jewels.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you’re talking about the same thing here???

with maddie, go big or go home!
DeleteMy Mother once told me the nearest a guy should get to a diamond is putting it on a woman’s finger - and she should know.
ReplyDeleteI wear a thin white gold wedding band.

It was hard enough for me to start wearing a wedding band, months and months before I could wear it daily. So to each his own but for me only this simple Tiffany band will do.
