The Sunday Five: the most embarrassing thing in my house

  1.  What is the most embarrassing room in your house?
  2. If you could change it, what would you do?
  3. What would we be surprised to find in your bathroom cabinet?
  4. What is hidden away under your bed?
  5. What is the oddest thing in your bedroom? (not counting spouses or lovers.)
My Answers:

  1. What is the most embarrassing room in your house? The kitchen - this is the before photo.
  2. If you could change it, what would you do? What is about to happen, gut it and replace EVERYTHING.
  3. What would we be surprised to find in your bathroom cabinet? A can of wall paint.
  4. What is hidden away under your bed? An Ikea end table that has never been assembled.
  5. What is the oddest thing in your bedroom? (not counting spouses or lovers.) A Leech jar, a reproduction of one from the 1700's.

  1. What is the most embarrassing room in your house? SG's office
If you could change it, what would you do? I won't even think about it. It's his space.
What would we be surprised to find in your bathroom cabinet? I can't think of anything.

  2. What is the most embarrassing room in your house? The family room. It's completely empty except for the pool table.

If you could change it, what would you do? Fill it with all new furniture.

What would we be surprised to find in your bathroom cabinet? Eyelash curler!

What is hidden away under your bed? Absolutely nothing. Growing up we never got into the habit of anything under the beds. Besides...how would the monster fit then?

What is the oddest thing in your bedroom? (not counting spouses or lovers. Base of feathers...rupaul prayer candle...a ceramic deer head...compote of seashells...

  3. What is the most embarrassing room in your house? I'm saying the kitchen, though it needs to be updates, because it's still the room where everyone congregates. So, it's have to be the office with it's mismatched furniture and really odds and ends.

If you could change it, what would you do? New desk, new book cases, perhaps a small couch, a corner for Carlos' music stand.

What would we be surprised to find in your bathroom cabinet? Two thousand+ Q-tips. I blame CostCo.

What is hidden away under your bed? Dustballs? We don't put anything under the bed because where would Consuelo hide when the doorbell rings?

What is the oddest thing in your bedroom? (not counting spouses or lovers.) Since we are not an organized religion house, and since I am not Jewish, I'd say it's the menorah on my dresser. I like the sculptural nature of it, not the religious symbolism.

  4. 1. the Room of Requirement. A side room where everything we own that doesn't really fit anywhere else gets jammed into instead of let go or thrown away.
    2. Give the stuff away to anyone who wants it. It's not really a heated room, so it's difficult to use. Not sure what to do with it.
    3. That I don't have one. We have drawers. But I'd say a cockring, but maybe that wouldn't be a surprise.
    4. Nothing. Maybe a dust rhino.
    5. Nothing. The bedroom, by design, is fairly sparse. We don't even have a chest of drawers. Just a bed and two side tables.

    1. When I redid my bathroom, I insisted on keeping the medicine cabinets, they are out of style, but so helpful. The other house had none, just drawers.

  8. What is the most embarrassing room in your house? I am not embarrassed by any room or space in our house. However, one of our guest bathrooms is very outdated and could use a facelift. We do have a porch door that is cracked and taped that I'm not too proud of, though.

If you could change it, what would you do? Rip out the existing cabinets and sink, install updated cabinets and maybe move the washer and dryer into it. And, of course, replace the back porch door.

What would we be surprised to find in your bathroom cabinet? If you haven't been following my blog, you'd probably be surprised at the pharmacy level medical supplies we have.

What is hidden away under your bed? A storage box of ties under one bed, a supply of comic boxes under another. And dust bunnies galore under both.

What is the oddest thing in your bedroom? Hmmmm. I guess it would be our 4 foot tall, bowling pin shaped giraffe, named Moof.
