Instagram - Google Map Fodder

I have a seldom used Instagram account, every once in a while an image like the one above will stand out, and get posted.  I have mentioned that Google maps tracks every move of my phone, they even send me a monthly summary of everyplace my phone has been.  I also get requests from Google to post photos, reviews and to answer questions.  I enjoy doing it, so it if it not invasive I will.

Someplace in western Washington state, we stopped at a local organic market, a farm stand morphed into a small grocery store.  We wanted something cold to drink, and a bathroom.  It had both, the people were warm and welcoming, and the fresh local produce made me wish I had access to a kitchen.  As I recall we bought cherries and blueberries to snack on in the car. I posted this to Instagram, I have since had a request to post photos and a review to Google Maps, I was glad to do so, it is nice being nice to a business that was nice to us.

Do you post random pictures online?

  2. Nope. I've barely figured out how to change up my avatar thingy. I get bored with the same one.

    1. Your grandkids can probably show you how, if they make snide remarks about helping you with the computer, remind them you taught them to use a spoon.

    2. Really? These same two evil grandkids that taught me video games and then laughed hysterically every time I crashed and burned? It was bad enough when they played hairdresser and I was the client. Took five shampooings to get all of the Vaseline out! Good times.

Google Maps tracks me, but not much as I rarely have location turned on. My partner hates what I post on FB so in the future I will post on Insta where he doesn't see. Google drives me mad with requests asking me about places I have been.

    1. A couple of years ago, I spoke a conference in California, the detail on the google map report was so fine, I could see where I had paced back and forth in the ballroom while I spoke.

  4. I don't think I'm being tracked by Google Maps but perhaps I am, no idea what Google is up to most of the time. Yes I post pictures but I don't use instagram or facebook, I have enough to worry about without worrying about them too!!!!

  6. Less and less often. I regularly post reviews and photos on TripAdvisor. Instagram became just too much for me... with blogging and Facebook, etc. I love your photo.
