Travel Tuesday: Mt Vernon last October

We have finished a couple of great days in Brugge, today we move onto London, where the weather forecast is near 80 (f) in the next couple of days.  Brugge has lots of history and churches.  As always a block off the beaten path and it is the quiet place that real people live.

  1. In such a city so busy with tourists, if locals are just off the popular areas in Brugge, there might be restrictions on Air BnB and similar accommodation.

    1. Brugge is struggling to balance the tourist trade, that is a major money maker, and quality of life for those who live there. Many of the tourists are only there for a few hours.

  2. Brugge is charming. We enjoyed Mt. Vernon but there sure is a lot more to it than there was when I was there.

    1. The lower farm, and down the road the grist mill and distillery have been built out over the past few years.

  3. I love traveling off the beaten path and with my sense of direction (or lack of), I find it quite often and have had some delightful adventures. Enjoy your time in London!

    1. I will go out for a walk about soon. We are near Waterloo station, and area we have not stayed in that is much more working class local.

  4. Mt. Vernon seems like a lovely place to just stroll around outdoors.

    1. Mt Vernon is a great place to walk, I buy a membership so we can go. I have guest passes if you are in the area and want to visit.
