The Sunday Five: What do you Think

The ship part of the adventure is done, the land part begins.  We are in Brugge for a couple of days.  The city is dripping in old world charm, and chocolate shops.  Two trains to get here, the first one was so easy and comfortable, the second one had us dragging baggage up curving stairs.  Apropos of today's topic, I had my first ride in a Tesla today, a taxi from the train station to the hotel.  It was comfortable, but a little tight getting in the back seat.

1: Have you seen a Tesla Cyber Truck on the street?

2: Would you use one as a truck?

3: Does it really fit the streets and parking spaces where you live?

4: Do you know anyone who owns one?

5: Would you own one?

My Answers:

1: Have you seen a Tesla Cyber Truck on the street? Several of them in the area.

2: Would you use one as a truck? It does not appear to be very useful as a truck.

3: Does it really fit the streets and parking spaces where you live? Not really it is rather large, and does not fit most parking spaces.

4: Do you know anyone who owns one? Nope

5: Would you own one? Not if it was given to me.

Please share your answers in the comments.

  1. 1. No, and they aren't allowed to be imported here.
    2. I might use it as a battering ram.
    3. I am sure it is capable for making its own space with a little nudge to other vehicles.
    4. No one I know would inflict such shame on themselves.
    5. I wouldn't want one, and even if I was given one, it would be unsaleable because of the who it is associated with. Tesla sales in Australia have dropped in the first quarter of this year by 60%, in spite of some freebie incentives being included. I am surprised the 60% figure is not higher.

  3. 1: Have you seen a Tesla Cyber Truck on the street? Someone in town owns one; it has yet to be vandalized.
2: Would you use one as a truck? Not a chance in Hell.
3: Does it really fit the streets and parking spaces where you live? Nope.
4: Do you know anyone who owns one? I don't, and I choose not to.
5: Would you own one? Again, not a chance in Hell.

  4. 1. I have seen only one on the streets of Edmonton.
    2. No, I would not use it as a truck.
    3. I don't know if it fits parking spaces -- never thought about it or noticed why it wouldn't.
    4. No, I don't know anyone who owns a Tesla truck. I only know one person who even owns a Tesla car. Bet they regret it now.
    5. I would never buy a Tesla anything.

  5. 1: Have you seen a Tesla Cyber Truck on the street? Yes, quite a few, and one had a lime green wrap around it. Ugly in all colors.
2: Would you use one as a truck? No. Doesn't seem practical to haul stuff to the dump.
3: Does it really fit the streets and parking spaces where you live? For streets and street parking, yes; parking lot parking gets a little tight.
4: Do you know anyone who owns one? No.
5: Would you own one? NOPE!

3: Does it really fit the streets and parking spaces where you live? I don't think so.
4: Do you know anyone who owns one? No, thankfully.
5: Would you own one? Not even if it was free.

    1. One parked next to me at Trader Joes (in a parking garage.) An older couple emerged from it, she looked at me and said, "sorry, it looked like a good idea when we ordered it two years ago."

    1. Tesla went from the dream of liberals, to NEVER EVER EVER, there is a lesson in there for business leaders and politics.

  11. 1: Have you seen a Tesla Cyber Truck on the street? Thankfully, no.
2: Would you use one as a truck? No way Jose!
3: Does it really fit the streets and parking spaces where you live? Well it could do.
4: Do you know anyone who owns one? No
5: Would you own one? I would rather vandalise a Tesla than own one. Even before Musk's DOGE dalliance, the cybertrucks looked hideous and potentially lethal with their sharp edges. Was the original design by one of Musk's kids?
