Sunday Five - Being Nice

  1. Do you often remember to say, "please" when asking others to do something?
  2. Do you expect or demand a "thank you" when you do something?
  3. When was the last time you performed a "random act of kindness"?
  4. Do you resist the urge to share or pass along something negative or insulting?
  5.  Do you say "good morning" to strangers?

My answers:

  1. Do you often remember to say, "please" when asking others to do something? Almost always.
  2. Do you expect or demand a "thank you" when you do something? Nope, the world owes me nothing for doing my part.
  3. When was the last time you performed a "random act of kindness"?  Yesterday,
  4. Do you resist the urge to share or pass along something negative or insulting? Often, but not always.
  5.  Do you say "good morning" to strangers?  Habitually, even in the middle of the afternoon, or early evening.  Some people stare.
Please share your answers in the comments.

    4. Mostly, but at times I have to fight hard to stop myself.
    5. At times. Mostly to people in our lifts and some friendly shop staff.

Do you expect or demand a "thank you" when you do something? no, but I was taught to say thank you, so I often do.

When was the last time you performed a "random act of kindness"? Last week, I shared my gin with everyone!

Do you resist the urge to share or pass along something negative or insulting? Well, I am known as Cruella at work, so the wise cracks and insults are in good fun and they know it. I'd never be insulting and mean it, unless Im provoked.

Do you say "good morning" to strangers? Yes!!!

If there is one thing to take out of this last four year hell of an administration of hate and negativity, it's to love one another and be open to be more friendly and polite. A good morning and good evening to all never killed anyone.

Do you expect or demand a "thank you" when you do something? No, but it's always nice to hear.
When was the last time you performed a "random act of kindness"? I haven't left the house yet today, so yesterday.
Do you resist the urge to share or pass along something negative or insulting? I do, but I regularly let myself down on that.
Do you say "good morning" to strangers? Always. And it's very common here in Southern Spain. It can be a bit awkward at times, though, because some ex-pats don't know the custom (or if they do, they find it peculiar and don't respond anyway).

    1. Good Morning sounds like a reliable way to identify the newcomers.

  4. 1 - always

2 - nope, but nice to hear

3 - a few months ago, a blog comment said how much this person enjoyed looking at a piece of my artwork. I sent said artwork to TX where he can enjoy it in person. I can always knit myself another.

4 - only if provoked beyond my last nerve

5 - not always "good morning"; "have a good day" works just as well

    1. Soon you will be able to get out about more, and run into more strangers on the sidewalk.

Do you say "good morning" to strangers? not to women; they may think I am a creep.
