The Saturday Morning Post - 50 States in 52 Weeks - Vermont

Vermont is in northern New England, it is somewhat wedge shaped, next to New Hampshire. I have been there once.  I was speaking in New Hampshire, I flew in a day early, rented a car because the conference was 100 miles from the nearest airline service. I used Holiday Inn points for a free night in Vermont. It was autumn, the landscape and trees were spectacular.

Vermont has a sparse population. The small villages often have the picture postcard appearance of Normal Rockwell America.

That is a very pretty part of the country that I have spent far to little time in.

  1. It's one of those spots on my must see list.

  2. I haven't spent much time in the New England States, either. I think a trip through a few of the states and then into Canada's Maritime Provinces would be quite an adventure!

    1. And I was there in the fall, when it may be at its most colorful.

  5. I spent a weekend in New England back in the 90's, flew into Hartford, rented a car and drove through the area. Vermont was a treat to see as was all the other states in that close knit group.

  6. I stayed at a lovely inn in Vermont when I visited my son who was going to Dartmouth in New Hampshire at the time. A beautiful area.
