1: When was the last time you attended a wedding? Last September in Michigan.
2: Should we continue the tradition of "white wedding dresses"? I think they are silly, something that is worn only once. And I would look strange in one.
3: Have you been a part of a bachelor or bachelorette party? No, never invited to one.
4: What was the strangest wedding you have ever seen? The ex-husband of my ex's middle sister, in the mid 1980s in Ocoee Florida. It was a redneck affair, I never knew anyone made blue jean suits. Budweiser served in cans. We left before the fights broke out.
5: Do you cry at weddings? Yes, I am a softy.

Have you been a part of a bachelor or bachelorette party? Yes, Many. I even popped out of a cake once in drag!
What was the strangest wedding you have ever seen? Not strange, but a different wedding was when my cousin got married in the mountain outside in the woods. They are borderline hippies, but it was wonderful and pretty with tons of wildflowers every year. My family has always been very nature related.
Do you cry at weddings? No

Delete1. About six years ago when my sister married her now wife. They had previously married when for a short time it was legal in Australian Capital Territory, but the law was changed and all marriages were anulled.

3. Is a bachelor party what we call a buck's night? Yes, one when I was young.
4. I've been to five. At one the food was due five hours after the ceremony. We left before the food was served.
5. I have become teary at times.
Five hours is a long cocktail hour, even in Australia

4: What was the strangest wedding you have ever seen? I have never been to a strange wedding though I have been to a big Muslim wedding where the female and male guests enjoyed their wedding meals in separate rooms.

Wedding and Funerals, life's big events. I was late to a funeral once.
Delete1. I haven't been to a wedding in years, probably at least 10-15 years. These days in my age group, funerals are more common.
ReplyDelete2. White wedding dresses? If that's what the bride wants, fine. But equally fine to wear something else. The symbolism behind the white dress is offensive and oppressive if you stop to think about it. Of course, that's true for much wedding symbolism.
3. No, I've never been subjected to a bachelorette party, thank the goddess.
4. I've been to quite a few non-traditional weddings (lesbian and/or pagan handfastings) but I wouldn't call them strange. Traditional hetero weddings can be quite dull by comparison.
5. Do I cry at weddings? Sometimes.
Wedding symbolism is very oppressive, and the history is even worse.

Our wedding was fun, a small gathering, we knew everyone who was there. I even relaxed and simply paid the bill.

4: What was the strangest wedding you have ever seen? We went to a wedding where the TV show "Bridezilla" filmed the wedding. Lots of dramatic scenes made for TV. That marriage lasted five months.
5: Do you cry at weddings? I cried at my childrens' weddings.
