The Sunday Five: Footwear

1: Describe the shoes you wear most days?

2: Do you wear shoes in your home?

3: How often do you replace your shoes?

4: Do you have "hiking" boots?

5: Do you have shoes for special occasions?

My Answers:

1: Describe the shoes you wear most days? I wear running shoes, mostly Asics Cumulus, almost all of the time.

2: Do you wear shoes in your home? No, I prefer to be barefoot at home.

3: How often do you replace your shoes?  I wear running shoes because of the way they support and cushion my feet, they need to be replaced a couple of times a year.

4: Do you have "hiking" boots? A couple of pairs, including one nearly waterproof pair.

5: Do you have shoes for special occasions? I have two or three pairs of really nice leather dress shoes that I wear a few times a year, for relatively short times.

Please share your answers in the comments.

    2. I wear shoes in my home because of my neuropathy. I alternate between slippers and sneakers.
    3. I have so many shoes that I rarely replace them. I add on. I don't know when I became that person. When I find a comfortable shoe in my size I get them in different colors. Nothing expensive.
    4. I used to. We camped a lot during our fifty years, but I can't hike anymore due to health issues. I also can't lace up shoes anymore. Getting old sucks!
    5. I have a couple pairs of dressy shoes for weddings and such. I feel like Godzilla trying to look like Cinderella and failing miserably. It be what it be.

  2. Describe the shoes you wear most days? Mostly Brogues, Oxfords and Cheslea boots during the week, at night and weekends, a huge color selection of All Stars chuck sneakers. But don't think I still good rid of any of the 5in Sellittos either.

Do you wear shoes in your home? NOPE ...Always barefoot or in open slippers. It's actually not healthy to have your feet covered all day and night a doctor once told me. Your feet need to have air at some point.

How often do you replace your shoes? Not much. No one shoe gets worn down enough as I have some many. And buy quality, not quantity.

Do you have "hiking" boots? Nope.

Do you have shoes for special occasions? Yes, one pair of glimmer smoking shoes...New Year Eve...and a patent leather tuxedo shoe.

  12. 1: Describe the shoes you wear most days? Merrell mocassins soon to be upgraded to Brooks walkers`at the dictate of my Physical Therapist who is telling me that I need "stability" shoes.
2: Do you wear shoes in your home? Currently Bombas slides.
3: How often do you replace your shoes? Only when they wear out. It's not like the old days when you could find a cobbler to re-sole or re-heel shoes
4: Do you have "hiking" boots? Yes, somewhere around here there is a pair of lightweight hiking boots. There is also a pair of hiking sneakers in the back of the car with the trekking poles. Also Tevas for kayaking and trudging to the put in.
5: Do you have shoes for special occasions? I have a safety rated set of steel toed boots with a steel shank from when I was assigned to the construction trailer at a previous job. Somewhere around here there is a pair of nice dress shoes for spiffy occasions. However, at this point in life, I prefer the confidence of a good tread grip to fashion. Mistress Maddie will have to do double time to offset my accumulated fashion demerits in the universe.

  13. 1. Running shoes most days. But it depends where I am.
    2. No. No real reason. We have always taken them off once in the door.
    3. I'm horrible about replacing anything that aren't running shoes. I have a lot of pair that just need tossed, but I haven't. And some that need replace - which I haven't. Running shoes get swapped out between 400-500 miles
    4. I have multipurpose boots. I don't think they're specifically for hiking, but I wear them mostly in Fall, Winter and Spring when it's wet and mucky out.
    5. I have work shoes and dress shoes. Again, many could be upgraded.
