4: Do you prefer to travel by train, plane, or automobile?
5: When will you next travel by train?
My Answers:
1: When was the last time you traveled by train - if ever? Last May, Edinburgh to Glasgow.
2: What is the longest trip you have taken by train? Probably Washington DC to Boston, it is an all day trip. Or maybe Antwerp to London.
3: How can we encourage more people to travel by train? The US needs to build new rail beds so trains can travel faster, and to expand cross country rail service.
4: Do you prefer to travel by train, plane, or automobile? If the trip is under a three hours, train.
5: When will you next travel by train? Hopefully New York in November, the next trips I am certain of is Rome to Milan next May.
Please share your answers in the comments,
1: When was the last time you traveled by train - if ever? Probably about 15 years ago when I had tickets to ACT in San Francisco. The train to the bus connection in Emeryville was convenient to catch a Saturday matinee - and I was not responsible for parking the bus or train.
ReplyDelete2: What is the longest trip you have taken by train? Sacramento to Oxnard on the Coast Starlight.
3: How can we encourage more people to travel by train? Increase service frequency, improve railbeds to increase speed and reduce failure of existing track, better coordination of rail and freight competition for existing track capacity, improve schedule reliability.
4: Do you prefer to travel by train, plane, or automobile? Depends on the trip. Trains and ferrys require you to be present - the process is part of the journey and you are isolated. However, a good road tripcan lead you to unexpected destinations and experiences too. Air travel has its moments, but it is now more like a Greyhound bus.
5: When will you next travel by train? Thinking about atrip from Vancouver BC through Toronto (it's on the Wish List).
